I guide people towards greater balance
I am Désirée –
Shiatsu therapist from Zurich
Body, emotions, and everyday life are closely intertwined – this has fascinated me for many years. In my work, I combine knowledge from Traditional Chinese Medicine, experience from sports, and mindful, precise touch.

Why I do Shiatsu

Ever since my time in competitive sports, I've been fascinated by how closely our bodies are connected to our lives. I experienced early on how much can change through movement, stretching, and mindful bodywork – often entirely without medication.
A personal period of recurring headaches showed me just how powerful this connection truly is. Through studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and later Shiatsu, I learned how touch, breathing, and small changes in daily life can have a lasting impact on well-being. This experience has shaped my (professional) path.
How I work today
In my work, I consider the person as a whole. Physical ailments rarely arise in isolation – they are often connected to stress, inner tension or strain, emotions, or the current life situation. Shiatsu helps to recognize these connections, calm the nervous system, and regain balance.
I support adults through challenging times, as well as pregnant women and new mothers who need stability, relief, or a moment to themselves after giving birth. As a mother myself, I know how important it is to be grounded and not lose yourself.

Who I am besides my work
Besides my work, I love nature, Pilates, and yoga – and I have a big heart for animals, especially dogs. I live in Zurich with my family and appreciate being close to nature, which always brings me peace and grounding in my everyday life.
Professional background & education
My journey began at ETH Zurich, where I studied health sciences and technology and completed my Master's degree in neuroscience. Alongside this, I led various training sessions at ASVZ for several years – from Pilates and strength training to T-Bow Balance Pump – and discovered my passion for working with people.
After my studies, I worked in addiction prevention. During this time, it became increasingly clear to me how closely body, mind, and life circumstances are interconnected. This realization led me to complementary therapy: I completed my training as a Shiatsu therapist at the Heilpraktikerschule Luzern (School of Naturopathy in Lucerne).
Today I combine scientific understanding with mindful bodywork. This combination shapes my therapeutic approach and my work with adults, mothers, and babies.
